New Delhi, NFAPost: Indian startup companies harnessed a total funding of $597 million during the last week (20 September-25 September). This week 46 Indian startups raised funding.
Cars24 raised the highest funding of about $450 million, followed by Delhivery and Medikabazaar which raised $125 and $75 million respectively. Meanwhile, the funding of the eight of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.
Summary of deals closed
Cars24:
Used car selling platform Cars24 has raised $450 million in equity and debt round from SoftBank, Tencent, DST Global, Falcon Edge’s Alpha Wave Incubation and others. Since, we have already reported Cars24’s first tranche of $258.6 million in September 11 edition, we’ll include only the remaining amount i.e. $191.4 million in total this week.
Delhivery:
Logistics and supply chain services startup Delhivery has announced $125 million new funding from Addition, an investment fund of Tiger Global’s former partner Lee Fixel. Since Delhivery had already raised $76.4 million in the first tranche on September 6, we’ll include the remaining amount i.e. $48.6 million in total this week.
Medikabazaar:
Medikabazaar has announced that it has raised $75 million in Series C investment led by CREAEGIS, along with CDC Group, the UK’s development finance institution and existing investors.
ZestMoney:
Buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) startup ZestMoney said it has raised $50 million from leading BNPL firm Zip Co Limited. This is part of a larger Series C fundraise which will see participation from existing investors.
Deep Vision:
Tech firm Deep Vision, Inc on Monday said it has raised $35 million (about Rs 257.8 crore) in funding, led by Tiger Global.
LifeCell:
Leading stem cell bank LifeCell International said it has raised Rs 255 crore or $34.5 million in a funding round led by healthcare investment firm OrbiMed Asia Partners IV.
FloBiz:
FloBiz, a mobile billing app for businessmen like distributors, wholesalers, traders and retailers, has scooped up $31 million in its Series B round led by Sequoia Capital India, Think Investments and its existing investors Elevation Capital and Beenext.
Design Cafe:
Online interior design startup Design Cafe has raised $25 million as part of its extended Series B round led by existing investors WestBridge Capital and joined by Sixth Sense Ventures.
Wow! Momo:
Quick service restaurant chain Wow! Momo said it has raised $15 million in a Series C funding round led by Tree Line Investment Management, taking its valuation to over Rs 1,225 crore or $165 million. IAN Fund and existing investor Lighthouse Funds also participated in the financing round.
FrontRow:
Celebrity-focused online learning and community platform FrontRow has raised $14 million or Rs 104 crore in a Series A round. This is the maiden financing round for the Bengaluru-based venture this year.
ePayLater:
Fintech startup ePayLater has raised $10 million in its Series B round led by a clutch of investors such as Zurich-based Responsability Investments AG, Blue Ashva Capital, Pravega Ventures and others.
Chqbook:
Chqbook, a neobank platform for small business owners, has raised Rs 40 crore or $5.42 million in a pre-Series B round led by existing investor Aavishkaar Capital and Rajiv Dadlani Group.
Early-stage deals
Karbon Card:
Karbon Card, a fintech startup focused on corporate cards, has raised $12 million in its pre-Series A round led by US-based fintech firm Unicorn Ramp, Rainfall Ventures, Roka Works and Y Combinator. Other global investors also participated.
Fittr:
Fittr, a fitness-tech startup, has raised $11.5 million in its Series A round led by Dream Sports’ corporate venture fund, Dream Capital and Elysian Park Ventures. Existing backer Sequoia India’s Surge also participated in the round.
Lio:
SaaS startup Lio raised $5 million in a seed round led by Lightspeed India Partners and Sequoia Capital India, according to a release shared by the company.
inai:
inai, a no-code platform for handling payments, has raised $4 million in its seed round led by Berlin-based Paua Ventures and 9Unicorns.
New Street:
Blockchain technology enabler New Street Technologies has bagged $4 million funding in a follow-on round.
Aerchain:
Aerchain, an AI tech startup focused on the procurement segment, has raised $3 million in its pre-Series A round co-led by IndiaMart and Season Two Ventures.
BeepKart:
BeepKart, an online retailer of used two-wheelers, has raised $3 million in its seed round led by Stellaris Venture Partners and Chiratae Ventures. A clutch of angels such as Varun Alagh, Sahil Barua, Vivekananda Hallekere, Kunal Shah, Ramakant Sharma, Rajesh Yabaji and Rajesh Sawhney have also joined the round.
Klub:
Revenue-based financing platform Klub has raised Rs 20 crore or $2.7 million in a debt financing round led by Trifecta Capital.
CredRight:
Fintech startup CredRight has raised $2.7 million in a round led by 9Unicorns, Spearhead Capital and Venture Catalyst. Existing investors YourNest, Accion Venture Labs and other angels have also joined the round.
RuleZero:
Bengaluru-based RuleZero, a private equity management platform, has completed the raise of its seed round of $2.5 million. The extended round saw participation from US fintech fund The Treasury, employees of Valiant Capital, domestic early-stage funds – YourNest Venture Capital, Blume Founders Fund, and a few angel investors.
Eichiba:
SaaS startup Eichiba has raised $1.35 million from cross-border venture firm Sirius One Capital.
TravClan:
B2B travel tech platform TravClan has raised $2.2 million in its pre-Series A round led by a Korea and Singapore-based venture capital firm, TheVentures, and Leo Capital. The round also saw participation from global and marquee angel investors.
Hatti Kaapi:
Bengaluru-based authentic coffee brand Hatti Kaapi recently announced its pre-Series A round of Rs 10 crore or $1.35 million led by BlueWolf Capital, Investribe, Kochi Holdings, and CreedCap Asia.
Hera:
Hyderabad-based healthtech startup Hera, whose goal is to make women’s healthcare more approachable and accessible through a friendly conversation, has raised $1 million in seed round led by angel investors.
CuriousJr:
CuriousJr, an online coding platform for kids, has raised $1 million in its seed round led by WaterBridge Ventures, EnziaVentures, and angel investors. Aditya Shankar, Tanushree Nagori, Abhinav Sinha, Mohd Wassem and Shashank Shekhar have also participated.
Supertails:
Supertails, a digital pet care startup, has raised Rs 5.75 crore or $0.78 million in a venture debt round led by venture debt fund, Alteria Capital.
HappyCredit:
HappyCredit, an instant cashback rewards platform, has raised Rs 5 crore or $0.67 million in pre-seed round from Kunal Shah, Krishna Kumar along with US and Canada-based investors such as Goodwater Capital, Magic Fund, MyAsiaVC, Alex Lin and others.
Kolo:
Kolo, a home construction marketplace, has raised $0.55 million in its pre-seed round led by Better Capital. Singularity Ventures and other marquee investors such as Haryopratomo, Rajesh Sawhney of GSF India and Vir Kasyap have also participated in the round.
Tummoc:
Bengaluru-based Tummoc has raised $0.54 million in its seed funding round from prominent angel investors including Vineet Singh (Founder of HMPL Consulting), Krishna D (Software Development Manager at Amazon), Deependra Bisht (Strategy & Operations at Google), and Alan Aim (Founder of Right Buy U, UK).
Mindler:
Mindler, a career guidance platform for students and educators, said it has raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Ecosystem Ventures, Inflection Point Ventures, nVentures Singapore and Chennai Angels.
Auntie Fung’s:
Auntie Fung’s, a quick-service-restaurant (QSR) startup, has raised Rs3.35 crore or $0.45 million in an angel round led by Indian Angel Network (IAN). The round was led by angel investors Anjali Malhotra, Ajay Rajgarhia, and Nitin Jain. Lead Angels, LetsVentures and Chandigarh Angels have also participated.
SiCureMi:
Health-tech startup SiCureMi said it has raised $0.42 million in pre-seed funding through grants from Pfizer India, Sanofi India, BIRAC, C-Camp, COPIC, and RightSide Capital.
BrainGymJr:
Mumbai-based BrainGymJr has raised INR 2.5 crore or $0.33 million in its Angel round in July 2021.
Endimension:
Endimension, an AI healthcare startup, has raised Rs 2.3 crore or $0.3 million in its seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).
Bluepad:
Bluepad, a vernacular content platform, has raised Rs 1.8 crore or $0.24 million in pre-seed round led by Titan Capital and AngelList’s Syndicate.
EV Plugs:
EV Plugs, an aggregation app for EV charging stations, has raised $0.15 million in a new round led by family and friends.
Undisclosed deals
Razorpay, Fibroheal, Expertons, PayCardo, Nimble Growth, My3DSelfie, Leverage Edu, and Frenzi did not disclose their financial details.
