As the years go by, the growing developer community of over 750,000 students and professionals, form an integral part of the culture of UiPath.
Programmes and platforms like ‘UiPath Connect’, ‘UiPath Go!’, ‘UiPath Academy’ and “Forum” for developers are a few platforms that aim at helping developers democratise technology and support the digital business revolution.
The Developer Conference, better known as DevCon, is one such program that had been conceptualized in 2018 with the idea of bringing developers together through an organic knowledge-sharing platform. What initially started as a physical event in Bengaluru, India, adapted itself to a virtual platform due to the pandemic and was launched at a global scale in 2020.
Drawing from the success of last year, DevCon is one of the biggest platforms for knowledge sharing today and is planned for June 15 and 16 this year. With over 25 sessions featuring CEO & Co- founder, Daniel Dines; EVP, Products and Engineering, Ted Kummert; Chief product officer, Param Kahlon and loads of other expert speakers, and more than 20,000 attendees, the event is being designed by developers for the world’s largest community of automation professionals. Last year, UiPath was incredibly proud to have women populate about 25% of its participants and in DevCon 2020 we are expecting more female participants this year as well.
The conference brings a plethora of opportunities to acquire knowledge and receive feedback on the latest and emerging technologies and developments, directly from automation experts in the industry. With an overwhelming number of global participants last year, the organisers have made the conscious decision to conduct the conference in a way, so as to cater to two time zones – between 10:00am and 2:00pm GMT for EMEA and APAC, and between 1:00pm and 5:00pm EDT for attendees in the USA.
By running technical sessions for developers, led by product managers, practitioners, and other experts, the conference hopes to offer new solutions to participants that will help them create automations that change the way we live and work.
Through our programmes, UiPath has strived to empower the developer community to give back to society. Winners of HyperHack 2021, a UiPath Hackathon, will also be felicitated at DevCon. Last year, Hyperhack was conducted for a period of 4 weeks and attracted of 500 registrants and 50 submissions from across the world. This year, focusing on the theme #Automationforgood developers were expected to develop a functional workflow that can support NGOs and help resolve societal concerns.
UiPath will also be announcing the survey results of ‘State of the RPA Developer 2021’ at DevCon. The report focuses on findings around developer’s certifications, their view on functional roles, upskilling tools available and in use by developers, and their opinion on whether Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a suitable career path.
The survey had also gathered participant’s advice toward growing a career in RPA. Initial results showcase how 77% of RPA developers are expecting their organizations to recruit an increasing number of developers in the coming year. 88% of the developers also feel that their decision to pursue a career in RPA has been a good decision.
Events like DevCon aim to make the future of automation available without barriers to developers across the world. Being the leading community for RPA professionals and aspirants, UiPath aims to consistently deliver solutions to this booming sector.
