Sameer Garde, President (India and SAARC), Cisco India has resigned after spending a quality period of four years .
He had taken over as the president of Cisco’s India and SAARC operations in July 2017. He will continue to hold office till the end of July this year.
Cisco said in a statement that Samer Garde has had a tremendous impact on its business over the past four years.
“We thank him for his contributions to Cisco and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” Cisco said in an emailed statement.
Under the leadership of Sameer Garde, Cisco has done a great job in the country and has shown good growth, it has helped the global to achieve the revenue of $49.3 billion in the fiscal ended July 2020, placing it among the highest growing markets for the company.
However, the company didn’t announce the successor of Sameer and is expected to make an announcement on the same in the next few weeks
In 2019, Cisco CEO Chuk Robbins had said India is ”one of the most consistent growth markets” for the company, and that it is on track to contribute 10 percent of its business in 5-10 years.
Besides registering exponential growth, Cisco is finding India as a strategic market where lots of investment will happen as India is taking a leadership role in the 4th industrial revolution. Also, Cisco is planning to expand its manufacturing base in India.
