Kolkata, NFAPost: Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Ladies Organisation (FLO) Kolkata Chapter organised Flo 2020-21 finale – KEFI: Love for Life – where FLO Chairperson Sunira Chamaria reminisced about the events taken up by them throughout the year.
Sunira Chamaria launched FLO’s-first-ever yearbook that showcases its members. The book has articles by FICCI Flo Kolkata speakers, and around 130 general interest articles contributed by the members.
Speaking at the function, Chief Guest Vivek Gupta (Editor of Sanmarg) talked about women empowerment and the commendable work that FICCI Flo Kolkata chapter.
Song on friendship
Past chairs including Jyoti Jain, Rajkumari Saharia, Renuka Shah, Shashiprabha Jalan, Suchandra Bhutoria, and Usha Agarwala attended the function. The event saw a performance by Ankit Batra, who sang songs on friendship such as “Na Koi Hai Na Koi Tha Zindagi Mein Tumhare Siva.”
Sunira Chamaria talked about the events that took place throughout the year and how these events were a great success with the help of the members.
“During the year, FICCI Flo Kolkata hosted veteran historian and Indophile William Darymple, the famous authors Amish Tripathi and Bhavna Roy,” said Sunira Chamaria.
This year, Sunira Chamaria also said Flo Kolkata hosted several Bollywood personalities such as director Neeraj Pandey, director-actor-poet Muzzfar Ali, actress Bhagyashree, and Suzanne Khan. “These personalities spoke on the various silos in life in front of the camera and behind the scenes,” she said.
Village adoption
She talked about the Village Adoption Programme of FICCI Flow Kolkata chapter wherein a village in Murshidabad was adopted and a school for 81 children was built in collaboration with Durga Devi Trust and Vidya Bharti.
“We feel thankful for this opportunity to create infrastructure for education that is bound to change lives not only of the children but perhaps families and in turn of the entire village. It is true that a gift of education lasts a lifetime,” she said.
FICCI Flo Kolkata also helped create a fully equipped occupational therapy centre for special needs children at the Samaritan help mission in the largely backward area in Howrah.
Sunira Chamaria also talked about the two-day nature trail at Nolen Gur for members to discover the brown gold of the region. Under the guidance of the renowned theatre personality Ramanjit Kaur, FLO Kolkata undertook a self-exploration journey with the theatre workshop “What’s in your Pocket”.
Heritage walk
She recalled the events organised by FICCI Flo Kolkata including heritage walk in the erstwhile French colony of Chandarnagar, tasty Tuesdays with renowned chefs, Health and wellness under fit@flo; visits by Chief Economic Adviser Dr KV Subramanuin, the Ex-minister of state for finance Jayant Sinha, business strategist Ajay Singh, Spicejet, the dynamic father-daughter duo Anand and Priti Rathi, and Mohandas Pai of Infosys.
Thanking superpower sponsors Damodar Ropeway and Infra Ltd. and Victoria Vistas, Sunira Chamaria said the previous year has taught FICCI Flo Kolkata that adaptation and innovation are the way forward.
“Each of our speakers has embodied that, taking us all a step closer to success in our spheres,” she said.
