Ex-CEO of Jet Airways and GoAir, Vinay Dube has plans to launch a new domestic airline by 2021.
He plans to start operations with five aircraft by year end, according to media reports.
To give shape to the venture, he has roped in his former colleagues, Praveen Iyer and Nikhil Ved and has held discussions with aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing.
Dube also has reportedly aprroached the Union Aviation Ministry for a no-objection certificate.
“A lot of groundwork has been done and the team is looking for investors to raise funds,” the source said.
Dubey has rich experience in the aviation field as he has shouldered the responsibility of being a CEO of Jet Airways and GoAir.
He had joined JetAirways in 2017 and quit the firm in May 2019., after it closed its operations due to financial crisis.
He had joined GoAir as its CEO in February 2020 and quit the post in August. He has also worked with Delta Airlines for a decade, and with American Airlines and Sabre Inc.
