BIRAC has introduced the Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) scheme, which is designed to stimulate validation of research discoveries by providing very early stage grants for the development and maturation of those discoveries.
BIRAC would invite proposals for Ignition grant at least twice a year. The BIG Scheme would be implemented through BIG Partners across the country.
C-CAMP has been chosen as one of the eight BIG Partner organizations, and one of the earliest BIG partners since the inception of the grant in 2012. C-CAMP has been chosen as it has the necessary scientific infrastructure, expertise and high-end platform technology access to nurture early-stage inventions through the Proof of Concept stage.
As a mandate from DBT, C-CAMP has been providing high-end technology services and training to academia and industry across several technology platforms.
