Bengaluru, NFAPost: Windows 10 PC users are in for some great news as WhatsApp has finally launched the support for Voice and Video Calls on its Desktop app, including Windows 10 PCs.
After some rigorous beta testing, the WhatsApp team has finally released a fully-functional update to support both voice and video calls on the desktop app. However, the support is currently limited to one-on-one communication only as the desktop app still lacks support for group calls.
As Tech Crunch reports, we might see further updates to the desktop app that brings support for group calls in the near future. Presently, the video calls are accessible in either portrait or landscape mode while the update has no support for accessing either voice or video services directly on WhatsApp Web at the moment.
In other words, you need to install the desktop app and not just pin the WhatsApp web interface in order to use the new calling services.
The advent of new voice/video calling feature on PCs should help people to communicate effectively via WhatsApp while working remotely across various parts of the globe.
There is no longer any need to switch between smartphone and desktop apps in order to use WhatsApp for collaboration work as the platform now brings a unified experience to users.
