Bengaluru, NFAPost: National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) President Debjani Ghosh said the world is going to be largely contactless or less of contact in the post-pandemic era next few years and it is necessary to create a better future.
Delivering her keynote address at the Bangalore Tech Summit 2020 on Thursday said volatility and crisis will be the new norm in the new era and the biggest challenge is whether we will go back to the old world that we lived in. She said the world is going to be a little wary in the post-pandemic era.
“Covid has started the process of acceleration of reimagination and reinvention in the tech industry. Technology is going to be an equalizer and disrupt every way of human lives and the way businesses are conducted. We will be able to leverage the bright building blocks that will add to the competitive advantage,” she said.
Debjani Ghosh said leading in the new normal will require a new flavour. Trust will be the first important factor on which decisions are going to be made. It is important to ensure the safety of your employees so that they are able to work in a secure environment. “Engagement with the employees will be based on trust which is changing,” she said.
She lauded the efforts of Karnataka government in encouraging movement of IT employees from their offices to work from home despite the hassles and hiccups.
Debjani Ghosh said it is necessary to build trust to gain competitive advantage. Technology is causing a considerable amount of job displacements and not job losses which means that people with newer technical, communication skills will be required.
Innovation is about impact and problem solving, she said as much as it is about co-creation, she said.
