The Hague Business Agency To Sign MOU at BIT2020 that will enable some 50 Indian tech start-ups to take their technology to Europe
Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwatha Narayana said government will review all existing partnership agreement to make proactive steps for better engagement with startups
Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Tech Summit-2020 (BTS-2020) which will be held from November 19-21, would provide a platform for about 50 startups of India to expand to the Europian market and the Karnataka would ink 12 MoUs with partner countries of Global Innovation Alliance (GIA), said Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T C N Ashwatha Narayana.
Speaking at an event organised by the IT& BT department as part of BIT2020, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T C N Ashwatha Narayana stated in presence of representatives of several countries of GIA that the government will support those who are very keen to showcase their developments in the upcoming event.
“The Hague Business Agency will launch a “Digital Soft-Landing” programme for Indian start-ups, during this year’s BTS. This programme will enable some 50 Indian tech start-ups to take their technology to Europe. Holland is the gateway to Europe for goods and services, and for technology as well,” said Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T C N Ashwatha Narayana.
In addition to this, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T C N Ashwatha Narayana said two MoU’s will be signed in the areas of cybersecurity and agri-tech, where both sides will be working together on mentorship, honing skills, start-ups, and research and development.

“There has been a prominent response from the sectors of AI, cybersecurity, health care, 5G, robotics, machine learning, space, agri-tech, defence technology, More than 25 countries, 15 GIA sessions, 10 minister-level delegates, 60+ GIA speakers, 500+ international delegates will be witness to this flagship event, he informed,” said Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T C N Ashwatha Narayana.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T C N Ashwatha Narayana also released GIA brochure at the event on the partnership with various countries.
Speaking at the event, IT, BT and S&T Additional Chief Secretary E V Ramana Reddy, Department of Electronics said GIA like international collaboration is absolutely necessary to solve the challenges worldwide, including the current COVID-19 pandemic we are facing.
“We are thankful to all GIA countries for their commitment towards bringing innovation along with Karnataka, which has third-largest innovation ecosystem in the world,” said IT, BT and S&T Additional Chief Secretary E V Ramana Reddy.
Besides Australia’s High Commissioner to India Jette Bjerrum Barry O’Farrell, the event also witnessed participation of Consul General of Denmark in Bengaluru Ms. Jette Bjerrum, Consul General of France in Bengaluru Dr Marjorie Vanbaelinghem, Consul General of Germany in Bengaluru Achim Burkart, Consul General of Israel to South India Jonathan Zadka, Consul General of The Netherlands for Southern India Gert Heijkoop, Embassy of Sweden in India Counsellor Innovation and Science Dr Fanny von Heland, Consul General of Switzerland in Bengaluru Sebastien Hug, UK Deputy High Commissioner in Bengaluru Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford and Consul General of Japan in Bengaluru Katsumasa Maruo spoke at the event.
Karanataka Innovative & Technological Society (KITS) Director Meena Nagara expressed happiness over the overwhelming support of GAI countries and said Karnataka will work with them closely for coming up with more innovative solutions for better society.

Expressing happiness over the participation at BTS 2020, Australian High Commissioner Barry O’Farrell AO said India and Australia relation have reached at a matured level at this pint of time and the country is happy to participate at the annual tech event of India happening at Bengaluru.

Karnataka is crucial to this growing partnership,” said ustralian High Commissioner Barry O’Farrell AO.
Showring praise on the innvation ecosystem in Bengaluru, Consul General of Switzerland in Bengaluru Sebastien Hug said Switzerland is happy to participate at BIT202.

Speaking to NFAPost, Consul General of the Netherlands to South India Gert Heijkoop said the state of Karnataka is a valuable partner for the Netherlands in India in a number of fields, all of them related to hi-tech.
