Chennai, NFAPost: Electric vehicle manufacturer Ather Energy has introduced a referral programme for its first product, the Ather 450. If you are an owner of the Ather 450, it is time to introduce her to your friend.
The process of buying one now comes with added benefits and an exciting offer, says Ather Energy and adds that its new
referral program will benefit its existing customers as well as new owners with monetary credits worth Rs 2,500. The referral program is live in Bengaluru and Chennai.
As part of the program, Ather will enable existing Ather 450 owners to share a referral code with their friends. If a purchase is made using the referral code, then both the referrer and referee get monetary credits worth Rs 2,500 each. Initially, there was a longer wait period for the delivery but now all the pre-ordered Ather 450s will be delivered within three weeks of payment, yet another reason to introduce the vehicle to a friend, it added.
Ather introduced easy ownership models like the exchange of any petrol 2-wheelers for an Ather scooter, as
recommended by the Ather community members and India’s first two-wheeler lease program along with the referral program, in addition to all the fiscal incentives offered by the Central and State governments, makes the transition to EVs easier and beneficial.
Ather Energy Chief Business Officer Ravneet Phokela said, “A lot of our Ather 450 owners have been referring new customers and it was time we rewarded their faith in our product and brand. Most of us look to others for product and service recommendations and these recommendations come with a high level of trust.”

Founded in 2013 by IIT Madras alumni, Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy is backed by founders of Flipkart, Sachin Bansal & Binny Bansal, Hero Motocorp and Tiger Global. It launched the country’s first truly intelligent electric scooter – Ather 450 in 2018, followed by its new flagship offering Ather 450X in 2020.
Ather has also installed a comprehensive public charging network, Ather Grid, built and designed in India. With 38 charging Points in Bengaluru and 14 charging Points in Chennai, Ather Grid is one of the largest fast-charging networks for electric vehicles in the country.
