Bengaluru, NFAPost: Rossell Techsys (Division of Rossell India Limited) has been named a global Supplier of the Year by aerospace major Boeing.
The Boeing Company, the world’s largest aerospace manufacturer, every year evaluates the performance of its 12,000 sub-vendors spread across the globe and awards its best 10 suppliers with the recognition of “Supplier of the Year.”
Rossell TechSys is the Bengaluru-based subsidiary of Rossell India. The company builds electrical harness for Boeing. The award is given in the Production category for being instrumental in the design, modification or production of a product, for 2019.
Boeing India President Salil Gupte said Rossell Techsys contributes high-quality components for some of Boeing’s most advanced platforms and the company is proud to partner with them.
Competitive supplier
“Achieving the Supplier of the Year distinction for the second time is an acknowledgement of Rossell Techsys’ capabilities. Boeing continues to grow a globally competitive supplier base in India, with strong partnerships that are aligned with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision,” said Boeing India President Salil Gupte.
This is the second time Rossell TechSys is winning the award. In 2016 the company won the first Supplier of the Year award. Also, it its a major philip to the Make-in-India initiative promulgated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rossell India Limited Director Rishab Mohan Gupta said the company is delighted and grateful to receive the Supplier of the Year award from Boeing, for the second time in five years.

Expressing happiness over the award, Rossell Techsys Chief Executive Officer Prabhat Kumar Bhagvandas said the company is humbled to be chosen by Boeing for this award, among 12,000 active global suppliers.
“This award is a testimony to Rossell Techsys’ manufacturing capabilities and customer focus. We believe this is also a recognition of the rising stature of India in global Aerospace and Defense manufacturing,” said Rossell Techsys Chief Executive Officer Prabhat Kumar Bhagvandas.
Kolkata-headquartered Rossell India Limited owned Rossell Techsys has its manufacturing base in Bengaluru and supplies engineering, manufacturing, test, and product support solutions to the global aerospace and defence OEMs.
For Boeing, Rossell Techsys provides manufacturing services for Interconnect Systems, such as wire harnesses and electrical/cockpit panels. Key Boeing platforms supported by Rossell Techsys include the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, F-15 Strike Eagle fighters, AH-64E Apache, CH-47F Chinook helicopters, V-22 Osprey tilt rotorcraft, KC-46 tanker, P-8I Poseidon maritime mission aircraft, and T-7 advanced jet trainer aircraft.
Vendor performance
Boeing decides its supplier recognition awards scientifically each year by availing assessment software called Enterprise Supplier Performance Management. This assesses vendor performance over a 12-month timeframe, measured over a rolling, month-by-month window. The Supplier of the Year is awarded for various categories, some of which may change on a yearly basis.
In addition to Supplier of the Year, Boeing also awards high performing vendors with Performance Excellence Awards (BPEAs). Rossell TechSys has won the BPEA on multiple occasions, including last year.
According to Defence Analyst Ajay Shukla, for financial year 2019-20, Rossell India reported a turnover of Rs 310 crore, on which it turned a net profit of Rs 18.55 crore. Over preceding quarters, the aerospace business, under Rossell TechSys, is emerging a key profit centre of the company.
