Amritsar, NFAPost: R Narayanaswamy, faculty of the Finance and Accounting area at IIM Bangalore has been appointed as Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee of the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA).
NFRA is the independent accounting and auditing regulator set up by the government of India under the Companies Act, 2013.
Narayanaswamy, who is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, has been with IIMB since 1986.
The professor is a graduate in commerce from St. Joseph’s College, University of Madras, and has a PhD in Accounting from the University of South Wales, Sydney. He also holds the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s Diploma in Management Accountancy.
“This is definitely the best assignment of all I could get in my life because I have campaigned for an independent regulator for over three decades,” Narayanaswamy was quoted in a statement from IIMB.
Currently, Narayanaswamy is the Chairperson of the Committee to Advise on Valuation Matters and Member of the Committee of Experts to develop an institutional framework for the development of valuation professionals of the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
