Amritsar, NFAPost: In a new update, India’s Covid-19 contact tracing application – Aarogya Setu – will allow its registered users to delete their account and all the associated data stored in the app permanently.
Along with this new feature, the application has also released few other features such as providing health data access to third-party apps, and using Bluetooth contacts to assess risk levels associated with Covid-19.
These features will be available in the latest iOS version 2.0.0, and Android version 1.3.1 of the application.
To delete their account, users can head to the Settings option in the app and choose the “Delete My Account” option, which not only deletes the users’ account, but also erases the app data from the phone.
Though the option lets users delete their account and erase all the data permanently from their phones, the information stored in the government server does not get deleted immediately.
The information and app data saved on the government server will be erased only after 30 days, according to the details provided on the Android version of Aarogya Setu app.
