Bengaluru, NFAPost: The State government will extend complete cooperation for Industry which is aiming to double the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in the next six years from the existing $230 billion to $500 billion ushering a New Karnataka, said Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan.
He was addressing Industry leaders on a webinar on `Nava Karnataka: Post Covid 19 Economy Rebuild – framework and strategies to strengthen the economy’ organised by the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on Saturday.
“There is a need to rebuild Karnataka by strengthening the economy and industry. The government will stand with industry and create a conducive atmosphere to ensure overall growth,” said Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan.
Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan said there is an open atmosphere for investment in Karnataka with new pro-industry approach of the government.
“We are also fine with someone informs the government after making an investment here. We are here to provide all the infrastructure required to rebuild the State,” said Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan admitted the fact that Covid 19 has adversely affected the State in multiple ways.
“It has brought several changes – be it social, industrial, economical. Here industry cooperation is required to overcome the crisis,” said Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan.
Minimum Governance, maximum administration
True to the aspirations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan the Karnataka state government too believed in “Minimum governance and Maximum administration”.
“Our aim is to give impetuous to of agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors. Keeping this in mind the government is open for investments by swiftly clearing proposals and giving clearances,” Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan.
APMC Act Amendment
The State government headed by B S Yediyurappa is giving stress on creating an industry-friendly administration by making amendments to the APMC Act by ending the government monopoly.
With the amendment, corporate sectors can directly purchase agriculture produce from farmers, said Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan adding that the government was providing all the help for farmers including supply of seeds, fertilisers, creating awareness on crops and bringing scientific techniques to agriculture sector.
“There is no other state like Karnataka in the country. Whether it is investments in information technology (IT) or any other sector, the state government is making an all-out effort to ensure ease of business. I also appreciate the industry for making a Herculean effort to revive the economy by braving the Covid 19 pandemic,” said Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan.
Encouragement for Garments
Deputy Chief Minister C N Aswath Narayan said the Karnataka government is giving stress on the garment sector which generates large number of employment.
The Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister said the government will extend additional incentives if garment units are established in rural parts of the state.
